Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare

Overall: 4.5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Plot/Storyline: 4.5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Feels: 4.5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sensuality: 4.5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

What can I say about this book? It’s delightful, charming, hot, and all about the romance. Tessa Dare has been a devastating hit or slight miss for me. Either it’s my favorite book ever or it’s just missing something to raise it that same league. This book is wonderful. It’s kind of book that releases a thousand butterflies in your chest. These two just…fall in love with each other. It just happens. And they let it. It’s so sweet and tender and full of heat.

I could see how someone might find this book slow. Not much really happens. They don’t go on an adventure or work through a scandal or fight off a villain. It’s entirely character driven and focuses on how their relationship develops. That’s my favorite kind of romance. Every page is written with feeling and observations and discoveries about each other. The hero and heroine are just exactly what each other needs at exactly the right time.

There’s just a sweetness about it that I totally fell in love with and mixed all up in that is so much passion and desire. All that trademark Tessa Dare steam.

And the hero is swoon worthy. 😍 I don’t want to talk about the characters because I think the discovery of this book is part of its charm.

I almost knocked off a point for my sensuality score simply because of sex interruptions. Tessa Dare relies on this a bit too much and it’s getting quite old in my mind. She writes such good sex that it’s so disappointing to have it constantly come to a jarring halt. But she made up for it in this book by giving us a near perfect love scene with so much feeling. Bursting with feeling, particularly from the hero, which I just love. It wasn’t awkward. There were no injuries. No interruptions. Just passion and hunger and two people falling in love.

The main reason for the 4.5 star rating is that I still think, of the Tessa Dare novels I’ve read, that A Week to Be Wicked reigns supreme. But I liked this better than others of hers that I’ve given 4 stars to.

Overall, a must read for Tessa Dare fans.
